On the eve of the new year, where the monkey becomes the mistress, I decided to present you my workshop on modeling a delicious, edible monkey made of sugar mastic, which will undoubtedly decorate your New Year’s cake.
Let's start the work with coloring mastic. We will need mastic of brown, flesh, red and white. At first I tried to color the monkey brown, adding a brown dye, but I was not very satisfied with the shade, so to get a rich brown color, I mixed red. Green and yellow dyes, in the end I got such a completely bright monkey. To get a flesh-colored mastic, or rather not quite flesh-colored, I would say light beige, I added a piece of brown to the white mastic and mixed well.
It is better to color the mastic in advance, after which it needs time, let it lie down a bit in the refrigerator or on the table (only necessarily wrapped in plastic or in a bag). Then in the process of sculpting, the mastic will not float.
We proceed to the sculpting process itself. We roll an oval out of brown mastic, flatten its bottom a bit so that it stands, and then select a tummy, simply flatten the upper part of the body. We will also make paws and tail, as well as roll up a ball for the head.

While the workpieces are drying up, we will begin to sculpt the paws, or rather the feet and hands on the legs of the monkey handle. From a slightly flattened oval of beige mastic, we first form a mittens, and then cut between the fingers, after which each finger is slightly spread out to give naturalness. These parts must be glued to the legs and arms of the monkey.

From the same beige mastic, we form a tummy, just rolling out the mastic and cutting out a pear-shaped form, which we glue to the body, moistened with water.

Glue a muzzle of beige mastic to the head.

We form a mouth, a nose, draw eyes and we get such a cute monkey.

We make the ears by giving the small pieces of mastic an ear shape, using a stack with balls, and also inserting pieces of beige mastic inside.

We connect the details. We glue the handles, legs, do not forget about the tail, put the ears in place, and connect the head itself with the body with a toothpick.

From brown mastic we will make hairs on the head, simply by gluing thin flagella.

Our monkey is ready, but I want to give it solemnity and celebration, therefore, I decided to put a New Year's cap on her head, which I made of red and white mastic. And putting a small bag of money in our hands, our ordinary monkey turns into a money one, which will not only decorate the cake, but also bring financial profit next year.
