Materials for work:
- Wide lace;
- Satin or velvet ribbon;
- Cabochon with a base;
- Centimeter;
- Chalk;
- Glue
- Scissors, thread with a needle.
Work sequence:
First of all, we measure the volume of the neck. It must be remembered that even though choker is translated from English as a “choke”, and as intended, it fits your skin tightly, you should be comfortable wearing it.
We mark the desired length with a pencil or pencil on the wrong side of the ribbon and leave 20-25 cm on each side so that the decoration can be beautifully tied to a bow.
It’s better to burn the edges so that they do not crumble later. If desired, instead of a bow, you can use the clasp, but then the jewelry will lose its authenticity.
The next step is to connect with lace. To add volume, lace tape should be sewn with folds to make ruffles.
We sweep away our workpiece and flash it on a typewriter or manually with a thread to match the ribbon.
We take a metal base for decoration, put the cabochon on the glue and wait for drying.
Find the middle of the choker and mark it with a shallow ribbon.
We sew the base there, and the lace choker is ready to go out.
If desired, the cabochon can be replaced with a cameo, a bow or a flower made of a matching ribbon, a pendant, as well as charm with chains for the Gothic version. Wearing a choker is recommended with evening and cocktail dresses with an open neck.
