What to do with old t-shirts? This question is of interest to many housewives. But they can find a worthy application! For example, a rug can be made from T-shirts. Knitted rug will be in demand both in the apartment and in the country. Such a rug is convenient and practical to use.

And you can make it using an ordinary hook 4 mm thick and several t-shirts. The whole process of making a rug can be divided into 2 stages: 1 - making knitted yarn and 2 - knitting a rug from yarn.

Yarn manufacturing process

1. The first thing you need to do is knit yarn, from which we will knit a rug. To do this, we cut off the upper part of the T-shirt, starting from the sleeves. We have a seam section of a t-shirt.

2. We make cuts from bottom to top, not reaching the top edge of 2 cm. The width of the strips should be about 1.5-2 cm.

3. Expand the cut T-shirt so that the upper seam is visible.

4. Next, we begin to cut the strip. We make the first cut after the first strip from ourselves and diagonally through 2 stripes on the opposite side.

5. All subsequent stripes are cut in order.

6. At the end and at the beginning, a continuous circle is formed.

7. We cut it along the oblique so that a continuous thread is obtained.

8. As a result, we get a ball of continuous knitted yarn. So we cut a few t-shirts and get skeins of yarn of different colors.

Mat knitting process

1. Getting started knitting a rug. In this case, we will knit a square rug measuring 60 * 60 cm. To do this, we crochet a ribbon of air loops equal to 60 cm.

2. Next, perform the single crochet (RLS). To do this, you need to hook in the next loop after the top and grab the working thread. In this case, the thread is captured through the front wall of the air loop.

3. Pull the knitted thread through both loops located on the hook. We get sc.

4. We knit the columns to the end of the row. Then we turn the knitting facing you.

5. Perform a lifting loop.

6. Then we enter the hook behind the back wall of the loop of the previously connected row.

7. We knit RLS in the same manner as described earlier.

8. We tie the row to the end. We get a beautiful pattern in the form of braids.

9. Next, alternate knitting RLS relative to the location of the walls of the loops.

10. When the main thread ends, sew another thread and continue knitting.

11. After the mat has been tied to the desired size, it is necessary to cut the thread, leaving a small length for fixing.

12. Thread the tip of the thread into the outer loop.

13. Tighten the thread, forming a knot.

14. Cut the excess part of the yarn and sew the tip of the thread to the mat.

15. T-shirt mat is ready!
