This interesting stand for hot items in the kitchen can be made by everyone at home. For this we need:
• MDF board approximately 19 mm thick
• Acrylic paints - white and any other color
• Copy paper
• tracing paper
• Sandpaper
• File
• Vise
• brush
• Pencil
Work description
A spiral-shaped teapot stand is very easy to cut out of wood, and even easier from an MDF-plate!
Transfer the “Snail” motive to the tracing paper and increase by xerox to the desired size. The diameter of our stand is about 20 cm.
The motive contours should be transferred to the MDF-plate using carbon paper, fasten the plate with the motive in a vice and cut the motif along the contour with a hacksaw in the direction from the outer end to the inside. Thoroughly scrub all edges with sandpaper or a file and carefully remove abrasive dust. Prime the base with white acrylic paint and let the paint dry completely. Then paint the upper surface of the stand in the color of your choice. Attention: acrylic varnish is not heat-resistant, therefore, if you intend to put a kettle of boiling water on the stand directly from the fire, do not cover the product with varnish!
