In this review, the author shows how to make a practical mini vise from a piece of a channel and an old jack.

Such a vice is very convenient when working with small parts. Besides the fact that they are compact in size, this vice is also quick-clamping.

For the manufacture of a homemade vise case, a channel piece of 80 mm wide is used. As a clamping part, the author uses part of a car jack.

The author uses two pieces of a profile pipe 25 * 25 mm as clamping jaws of a vice. A 30 mm wide strip and a jet thrust sleeve from a VAZ will also be required.

The main stages of work

From a piece of the eightieth channel, the author cuts a workpiece 20 cm long. In the center of the workpiece using a grinder, a longitudinal cut should be made.

Next, you need to disassemble the car jack. All that is needed is a screw and a sleeve with a female thread.

At the next stage, a stubborn sponge must be welded to the base of the vice. Its width (length) is 125 mm. Then you need to cut off the second sponge, which will be movable.

In the second sponge, it will be necessary to drill a hole in the center for the threaded rod (screw from the jack). Then you need to make another resistant mechanism for the threaded rod.

For this, the author uses a strip and a jet thrust bushing - we weld the parts to the base.
