Bent wooden blanks are widely used in the manufacturing process of various decorative elements. But just bending a rail from a tree at home is sometimes not so simple. It is easier to cut the part of the desired shape with a jigsaw, but then there will be a lot of waste.
Usually, the hydrothermal method is used to bend wood blanks - that is, the blank is in the steam box for some time, after which it can be bent without any problems.
However, the author offers a simpler, in his opinion, method, which is based on the thermal effect on the workpiece. To do this, you need a gas spray with a burner and a homemade device.
The main stages of work
To make a home-made fixture, you will need a piece of steel strip 40 mm wide, as well as a piece of the construction corner 40 * 40 mm. The strip will need to be welded to the edge of the corner perpendicularly.
Between the shelves of the corner, the master welds a piece of steel pipe, which should be approximately 1/3 longer.
In the next step, the steel strip will need to be welded to the end of the pipe, bending it first in two places. It will be a kind of stand for a gas canister, which is attached to the strip with the help of two or three plastic ties or a metal clamp.
