Birds are small workers on an invisible insect control front. Therefore, supporting them in the winter is a noble and grateful undertaking. Why not make, for example, a bird feeder out of a glass bottle and wood?
Such a simple home-made will take not so much time, and the materials will need ordinary ones (the board, by the way, can be replaced with plywood). At the same time, there will be a lot of benefits from it. Well then, let's get to work?
To begin with, cut a piece of board or plywood that is necessary along the length, cut into two parts. On each half, mark the center and use a crown on a tree to cut holes of different diameters. Then we plan the board to give smoothness.
The main stages of work
We take two more pieces of the board and draw it to the required dimensions. We cut out the grooves that we sanded. Then we assemble the structure of our feeder and fix it. It turned out something like a vertical shelf. The hole on the top horizontal board is larger, and on the bottom - smaller.
We make marks on another board and cut out new pieces on them. We saw off both edges at an angle of 30 degrees from the end. We saw off the upper edges of the boards with grooves also at an angle of 30 degrees. We fasten the structure with nails, after drilling the holes.
Then we nail these boards to the bottom of the structure, we get a feed box. We put an empty glass bottle with its neck down.
From small boards with angled sawn edges, we collect the roof for the feeder, nail them to each other. Then we drill holes in the roof and fasten it to the walls of the feeder. Drill a hole on top of the roof and twist the hook. We make a knot on the rope and put on it.
Mix the seeds, millet and other grains and put them in the bottle using a paper funnel. We close the bottle cap and insert it into the holes by simply sliding the shelves in the grooves.
