Using a simple home-made compass made from scraps of a professional pipe and ordinary bolts, it is convenient to mark round billets of metal of small and large diameter. Such homemade work will be useful in any home workshop.

The design of this device is very simple, and you do not need to buy materials for its manufacture, since they are always at hand. Therefore, if you do not want to spend money to buy a factory compass, you can do it yourself.

First of all, it is necessary to cut a piece with a length of about 30-40 cm from a 10x10 mm profile pipe (if necessary, a longer cut can be used). You will also need one piece of a 15x15 mm profile 10 cm long.

The main stages of work

To the profile section 10x10 mm from the end you need to weld a nut. We clean the weld with an angle grinder. Then we weld another nut to the stud. On the flap wheel, grind the ends of the bolts of different lengths onto the cone.

To the section of the profile pipe 15x15 mm we weld a pointed bolt, which is shorter. Then on the other side of the profile we drill a through hole and weld a nut. We screw a fixing bolt into it. We clean the places of welding with a grinder.

Then we proceed to the final assembly of this device. For more information on how to make a simple compass for metal from a professional pipe and bolts, see the video on the site.
