To remove the bearing from the shaft of the electric motor or other mechanisms at home, you will need a simple device - a puller, which is quite easy to make yourself from improvised materials. For example, from a piece of a round water pipe and a piece of a steel plate.

A homemade bearing puller is useful not only in the home workshop, but also in the garage. With its help, you can easily dismantle bearings, couplings, gears or other similar elements.

Puller manufacturing process

To make this device, you will need a piece of steel pipe with a length of about 15-20 cm. Using a grinder, you need to cut a T-groove on one side. Then the pipe will need to be welded to a rectangular metal plate.

After welding, we again take the angle grinder in our hands and cut off the corners of the plate. Next, instead of a cutting disc, put a petal circle, and give the plate a round shape. In principle, this operation can be performed on a belt grinding machine.

At the next stage, we cut out a triangular wedge in the plate, and then it will be necessary to expand the cut place to obtain a rectangular groove (in this case, the edges must be cut at an angle).

In the upper part of the pipe we weld a piece of strip with a hole. Then a nut is welded on top, into which a long stud is screwed. At the end of the stud, you need to weld a knob from a piece of steel round timber.

The principle of operation of the device is very simple: the pin rests on the shaft, and as it rotates, the rest of the structure "drags" the bearing along with it. The process of making a homemade puller, see the video on the site.
