To make a simple compact vice, which will be convenient to use in a small home workshop or garage, you will need two metal plates with a thickness of about 10-12 mm, as well as three identical pieces of steel square.

As a screw, you can use a long bolt or stud. The parts will be connected with screws, so welding in this case is not necessary. The design of the vice itself is quite simple (one might even say primitive), so there will be no difficulties in making this homemade product.

The main stages of work

First of all, we cut the blanks of the required sizes (as for the sizes - in this case they can be different, choose specifically for your tasks). On the edges of each of the steel plates on the drilling machine, two through holes must be drilled.

You will also need to drill four holes in two pieces of the square. Then with screws we fasten the stops to the base. The third segment of the square will be used as a clamping sponge - in it you need to drill one large hole for the stud, as well as one small one - for the fixing screw.

Then we assemble all the details in a single design. For greater convenience, a knob can be welded to a stud or bolt. The process of manufacturing and assembling homemade compact vices made of metal, see the video on the site.
