If you have an old manual hacksaw lying around for wood, do not throw the canvas into scrap metal - you can make a convenient home-made dispenser for sandpaper from it. Using this tool, you can quickly cut a piece of the desired length from the sanding belt.
The dispenser is designed for several rolls of sandpaper and is attached to the wall, so it does not take up free space in the workshop - it can be installed above the desktop or hung in another place. It should also be noted that in an improvised dispenser, you can “tuck” sandpaper of different widths.
The main stages of work
We take an old hacksaw, unscrew the handle and fix the canvas to the table or workbench using clamps. Next, on the upper part of the saw blade, using a grinder with a cutting disc, we cut out small triangular teeth. We grind the teeth with a petal circle, after which we retreat from the edge about 3-4 cm and cut off part of the blade with a grinder.
Glue a narrow strip with teeth to a piece of plywood or OSB of the required length. On top of the strip you need to screw a plate with large holes - using the washers we set the desired clearance for sandpaper. We fasten two boards to the plywood strip and fasten the dispenser to the wall.
Through the holes in the side walls we thread a steel pipe (or a wooden holder) onto which we put rolls of sanding belt. The edges of the sandpaper are passed through the gap between the plate and the saw blade with teeth.
