From an ordinary plastic bottle with a lid, as well as a kitchen sponge, you can make a simple but useful device for impregnating a wooden surface (including plywood) with varnish, stain, mineral oil or other liquid compounds and impregnations for wood products.

The main advantage of this homemade product is its low cost. Such a device will also be effective as aerosol cans in cans, but it will be much cheaper. And unlike rollers and brushes, a homemade impregnation device will not leave a pile or bristles on the painted surface.

The main stages of work

In a plastic bottle cap, you need to make a hole of any shape (square or round - no difference). To do this, you can use an electric drill, a hot nail or an ordinary knife. The hole in the cover should be of medium diameter.

We put hot glue around the hole, after which we glue a piece of the kitchen sponge, which must first be cut in half with a knife. Then we wrap the cap on the bottle.

As a result, in just five minutes, a simple device was obtained, with which you can apply stain, mineral oil, glue, varnish, paint and other compounds to the surface of wood and plywood products. Thanks to foam rubber, liquid impregnations are distributed in a thin and uniform layer.

To summarize

As mentioned earlier, the main advantage of this device is its cheapness and simplicity. This is a decent budget alternative to various paints and varnishes or other impregnations in cans, which not everyone can afford.
