Surely, many are familiar with the legendary store rifle with a sliding bolt KAR98K - it was adopted by the German army in 1935-36. and then it cost as much as 56 Reichsmarks, and in combination it is also the most popular weapon in the computer game Call of Duty and some other "shooting games".
Let's try to make a prototype of this rifle made of wood. As a basis we will use the most ordinary pine window sill with a thickness of 40 mm, but if desired, you can take another, more suitable "piece of wood". We print a template on the printer, cut out and glue its individual elements, and then glue the template to the windowsill.

After the wood glue is completely dry, using a jigsaw (manually it will take a long time) we cut the blank for the rifle. As a trigger mechanism for a rifle, any spring airsoft drive is suitable - we apply it to the workpiece, after which we outline the contour.
Using a chisel or engraver, we make a recess for installing the drive. Next, you need to prepare two steel tubes: one for the barrel, and the second for the bolt mechanism. In one of the tubes that will close the shutter, it is necessary to cut a small piece so that later it can be put on the plastic part of the actuator.
The process of assembling and processing a rifle
Then try on the tube in place. If everything is fine, we mark holes in the box under it - we drill a hole with a pen drill, and make a recess with a chisel. With the other tube, which will close the bolt, we do the same: cut off the excess, try it in its place, mark the groove under the barrel and cut off the chisel.
Next, we install other components (store block, optics, ball feeding mechanism, trigger, etc.), after which we grind the wooden case and cover it with acrylic paint. The detailed process of manufacturing the KAR98K rifle, see the video on the site.
