Do you want to pleasantly surprise a girl or please your mother with an original gift? Make a stylish and inexpensive mirror in a wooden frame with a handle. The design of the mirror itself is very simple - everyone can repeat it. As the main material, you can use any wood species: alder, beech, hornbeam, oak, etc.

A hand-made wooden mirror can be made special and unique if the surface of the frame is not just coated with varnish or mineral oil, but, for example, painted with acrylics or decorated using decoupage technique. The shape of a mirror with a handle can be absolutely any, but the classic version is an oval. In this case, we will stick to the nominal classic version of the frame of the mirror.

The main stages of work

We draw the shape of the future mirror on an appropriate board — arbitrarily by hand, or circle a paper template printed on a printer. As a template, you can use the usual racket for table tennis, only the handle can be slightly lengthened. Then we cut out two blanks according to the template. To do this, it is best to use a manual or jigsaw.

In one of the halves, you need to cut out the middle (according to the size of the mirror), in which, using a hand milling cutter, you need to make a "bezel" around the mirror under the mirror. The second half should remain whole. After that, both parts are processed on a belt grinder or manually with sandpaper.

Finishing touch and done!

At the next stage, the two halves of the mirror frame are applied to each other, and then they are milled along the outer contour to be identical. On the front side, holes are marked and drilled for decorative elements, for which brass screws can be used.

A mirror is installed in the seat, then two halves of the wooden frame are connected to each other using fasteners. For a detailed process of manufacturing a mirror with a handle, see the video on the website.
