In the process of manufacturing various metal structures for home and summer cottages, it is often required to bend profile pipes not at an angle, but with a smooth bend with a certain radius - for example, this is necessary in the manufacture of arch designs of greenhouses or arbors. In order not to buy an expensive tube bending machine for one-time work, make a simple home-made device.

This homemade pipe bender can be made in haste, without resorting to turning work. The advantage of such a mini-machine is its compact size and simplicity of design - to make it possible for everyone. This type of pipe bender is useful in cases where you need to bend a profile pipe 20x20 mm.

The process of making a homemade pipe bender

A small piece should be cut off from a steel pipe with a diameter of 110 mm. Then we find the center and make a marking around the entire circumference - for this you can use a standard caliper. A steel round bar with a diameter of 8 mm is welded along the intended line.

At the edges are welded two square rods, previously bent into a ring. The distance between the rings should be 21 mm. Thus, we got a roll for a profile pipe with dimensions of 20x20 mm, and this did not require a lathe, so take this idea into service.

Two metal pancakes with a thickness of 8 mm are welded on both sides of the resulting roller, however, preliminary, it is necessary to drill holes in the center with a 10 mm drill. Then from two corners the frame of the pipe bender is welded. It drills one through hole for the M12 bolt, to which the handle is attached.
