When you need to wrap a plate, strip, sheet of metal or other flat surfaces of steel, then there are no problems here - fixed the workpiece with a clamp, set the core in the right place, hit it once or twice with a hammer and the mark is ready. With round parts (pipe section, bolt or steel round timber), things are not so simple. You can’t really squeeze it in a vice, and a clamp will not help much here.

In order not to be tormented and not perverted every time you need to tilt a round billet, you can make a very simple in terms of design fixture. For this homemade product the following materials will be required: a piece of a plate, two pieces from a steel strip, two bolts with nuts with a diameter of about 10-12 mm, two short studs, and a piece of a round water pipe.

The main stages of work

In one section of the strip, it is necessary to cut a hole for the nut, and in the other - for a piece of round pipe. Then everything is connected by welding. The resulting parts must be welded to a rectangular plate, and then connected to each other at an angle of 90 degrees. On the other side of the base, a second bolt with a nut with a hat inward is welded. Studs (or pieces of round timber) should also be welded to the bolts.

Then we clean the welding spots with a grinder and the home-made fixture is ready for work. Now, when you need to tilt a round billet, this can be done quickly and effortlessly. The process of making this homemade product, see the video on the site.
