If you want to make the interior of the room original, then you can not do without the use of home-made decor elements. Moreover, it is not at all necessary to spend money on the purchase of expensive designer materials, because it is quite possible to get by with what is at hand.

For example, from an ordinary profile pipe, you can make an original oil lamp, which will help to make the atmosphere in the room more calm and romantic. In addition, an oil lamp will come in handy if the electricity is suddenly cut off in the evening.

Manufacturing process

To begin with, we cut off two identical rectangular plates with a grinder or a hacksaw for metal (you can use sheet steel or a steel strip), after which they need to be welded along the edges of a section of a profile pipe.

Next, we mark and drill holes in the upper part of the pipe, into which we then insert the wicks for the oil lamp. Please note that the distance between the holes should be at least 4-5 cm. We leave the outermost hole (of a larger diameter) free - oil will be poured into it.

To give a homemade oil lamp more aesthetics, the metal surface must be well cleaned with a grinder (grinding disc), and then painted or simply varnished, depending on your "taste" preferences.

You can literally make such a simple element of decor in one hour. For a detailed process of making a homemade oil lamp from a square profile, see the video on our website.
