In this master class, we will consider the creation of an electric pump for pumping the wheels of motorcycles and bicycles. The main advantage is that the pump is powered by a built-in battery and is small in size. Its design is such that everyone can make it. These benefits allow you to take it with you wherever you go.

You will need:

  • A piece of plastic sewer pipe and two plugs on it. Bought at any plumbing store.
  • Two air pumps on 12 V. Took on Ali express.
  • Hose from a bicycle pump. In the market or in bike shops.
  • Valve for a bicycle chamber (in common people - a nipple). In the market or in bike shops.
  • Air quick coupler.
  • Silicone tube.

12 volt battery with charger, on / off button, battery connector. All with Ali Express, there are a huge number of different types to choose from. From the tool it is enough to have a soldering iron, a lighter, a heat gun, a knife or scissors and a screwdriver.

Making a tire inflation compressor

We begin the assembly with the pump. We use 2 pumps for greater performance, their number depends only on your imagination. We connect them with a tee. Because of the size, the tee is not directly suitable, so we take the silicone tubes and connect with them. Before putting the tubes on the pumps, we warm them up with a lighter so that the tubes sit tight and tight. With a tee is easier - it has a quick-clamping mechanism.

Next, solder the pumps in parallel to each other. We put a cap on a piece of sewer pipe, put it inside the pump and battery, and check if everything fits.

Then we solder wires and a connector for connecting the battery and the power button to one of the pumps.

You can solder to any pump, since they are connected in parallel and this will not change the essence. Now let's deal with the second plug for the pipe. It is necessary to place the power button and the air valve of the bicycle chamber on it. To do this, outline the button on it, drill and cut a hole.

It can be trimmed with a dremel or a regular hand file.

The valve is even simpler - just drill a hole of the desired diameter.

We glue the button with a glue gun, fasten the valve with the bolt and washer included in the kit.

After that, solder the pumps to the button as shown.

The resulting structure is laid in the casing of the pipe and fixed with a glue gun.

We connect the air valve to the pump tee. We glue the connection of the valve with the hose with hot glue.

We connect the battery and assemble the case.

In the top cover, several holes must be drilled for air intake. Outside, we attach a hose from a bicycle pump to the valve. The build process is complete.

The resulting electric compressor easily copes with the task.

It works while you rest. Do not forget that the battery must be charged before the trip, otherwise an unpleasant surprise may be waiting for you on the road.
