In this review, the author shows how to make a parallel wood clamp with two screw clamps. It can be used to quickly and reliably fix several workpieces.

The compression strength of the parts is ensured by two screws (specifically, studs are used in this case). A large parallel clamp can be used in the home workshop for both gluing blanks and temporarily fixing them.

The first step from a round bar will be to make barrels with a hole and threaded threaded rods. Alternatively, you can use ready-made barrel nuts, which are usually used in the assembly of furniture.

The main stages of work

At the next stage, the author saws off two bars of the same length (it is better to use oak or other hard wood). Of these, the main part of the homemade work - clamping jaws will be made.

In the bars you will need to drill holes for studs and barrels with thread. Then the author gives the wooden blocks the necessary shape.

If there is a lathe, you can make handles for screws. Or you can just cut the blanks from the round. Also ready-made handles for chisels and files, which can be bought in the store, are suitable.

At the last stage, we press in the barrels with thread into the holes in the clamping lips of the clamp, after which we treat the surface of wooden parts (sponges and handles) with mineral oil, or can be coated with colorless varnish.
