In households, a metal step-ladder is always useful: for example, to plaster a wall or paint it, to climb onto a roof, remove rubbish, cut unnecessary branches on a tree, etc.

Moreover, a stepladder for a house or a summer residence can be either bought or made with your own hands. Home masters most often choose the second option, as the most optimal in price and quality.

In this review, the author shows how you can make a universal transformer ladder from a profile pipe 15 * 15 mm. Round steel pipes and some other parts will also be required.

A feature of this design is versatility. It’s easy to transform a home-made step-ladder into a side or sliding double-sided ladder, and even scaffolding can be made of it.

The main stages of work

First of all, it will be necessary to cut the blanks with the help of a grinder - rectangular plates of metal. Two holes must be drilled into them. Then the master cuts each plate in half.

At the next stage, it will be necessary to cut billets from a round pipe 60 cm long. After that, we weld previously cut plates to profile pipes. We insert round pipes into the holes and scald.

To each section, the author welds metal plates to which sections of profile pipes are welded. Thus, one section can be inserted into another.

Then, cross members are made from a round pipe. All construction details must be sanded and painted. For more information on how to make a universal step-ladder-transformer from a profile pipe, we recommend watching in this video.
