The process of manufacturing an aluminum pan in the modern world does not take much time - the benefit is now all automated. However, the residents of the Republic of Benin will teach anyone how to make pots, and other various dishes literally "on the knee." And no worse quality.

To make an aluminum pan, you will need: earth (silica or loam), a mold (two halves of a cast iron), talc, metal and hand tools.

To begin with, the mold is wrapped in a metal plate hoop and aligned at the edges. We fill the cast iron to the edges with soil and ram it, achieving a smooth and even surface.

The main stages of work

We install the cast iron upside down and surround it with a wooden formwork. Carefully separating the two halves, after removing the hoop, insert two small plates between them. We fill everything with soil and ram.

Next, cut off part of the soil, exposing the bottom. Using a smoothing machine, level the entire surface around the bottom. Sprinkle with talcum powder so that the top layer of our form does not stick.

We install a smaller formwork on top of the prepared surface. We repeat the procedure with the soil, as at the beginning of the work.

Separately, we begin to manufacture the lid. In exactly the same way we form the formwork and the mold with the soil. We clean the lid from excess debris. Sprinkle with talcum powder and form a second layer of the mold.

Carefully remove the form, pre-marking on all forms in order to eliminate the curvature of the forms among themselves. We take out from the molds two halves of the future pan. We carry out the final alignment of forms, after which we collect all the forms together.

Mold fill process

We melt aluminum, and pour molten metal into pre-prepared sprues. After some time, we begin to disassemble the design of the mold.

We knock out the excess soil and proceed to the final finish, cutting off the cloud and removing the sharp edges remaining after pouring, with a file or sandpaper.
