For many people, working with wood is a great pleasure. It is so nice to make natural wood something useful for a summer house or home. Whether it is an ordinary window frame with a window leaf or an original bench.

For such work, a carpentry planer for wood, which you can do with your own hands from an ordinary bar, will be required. And although this process will take some time, the end result is worth it.

The main stages of work

The first step is to process the block on the planer and pass through the thicknesser so that both planes are even. Then the edges of the bar must be trimmed at a right angle. This can be done both with the help of a conventional hacksaw for wood, and on a miter saw.

Then we cut two bars from the bar and saw the workpiece into pieces at an angle of 45 degrees. On one of the halves of the wooden block, it will be necessary to make two angles - 105 ° and 65 °. The knife can be made independently or used from an old planer.

The next step is to make a planer pen. Then we glue the previously sawn planks to the two main blanks, using carpentry glue for this. After gluing, align the “sole” of the planer.

Then it remains only to cut out the wedge to fix the knife and glue the handle. See the video on our website for the step-by-step process of making a homemade planer for wood from an ordinary bar. Write in the comments if you liked this homemade product.
