Old pliers repeatedly became the basis for various homemade products. But human imagination has no limits, and therefore we present to your attention another unusual idea with the participation of this tool.

The master decided to use old pliers to make a home-made holder for welding electrodes. We will talk about the shortcomings of this craft at the end of the article, and now we will go directly to the manufacturing process.

First of all, it is necessary to remove the dielectric “nozzle” from one handle and cut off a small piece from the handle with the help of a grinder.

The main stages of work

The shortened handle of the pliers must be turned with a flap wheel or on a grinding machine. Then put on the washer and weld it. After that, the author welds a nut to the washer, into which the stud will be screwed. You can also use a piece of a bolt without a hat.

At the next stage, it is necessary to clean the handle to the gloss of metal, as well as modify the inner part of the clamping jaws.

After that, you can already begin to assemble a makeshift holder. The exposed handle must be rewound with electrical tape. The author puts the ends of the welding cable on a hairpin, and fixes it with a washer and nut.

Of course, such a homemade product has a right to exist, but only as a backup option, when there is no holder at hand, and you need to brew something. In general, cooking such a holder is not very convenient. If only because the hand will always be in tension. It is better to make a classic "trident".
