To reliably and efficiently glue wooden boards from plywood or boards, homemade long clamps are perfect. Ideally, immediately make a pair of sets, consisting of two clamps. However, if you need to glue many shields, you will have to make several sets.

For their manufacture, it will be necessary to prepare four long sections of a profile pipe of rectangular cross section, two steel bars with a diameter of 2.5 cm, and also four studs with nuts. Another pin will be needed to abut the edge of the desktop or workbench.

The main stages of work

First, it is necessary to carve a 25 mm thick blank on a lathe and cut it into two parts (into one set of clamps). After that, we drill a hole in the middle in the workpieces and cut the thread in it so that you can then screw the stud with the stop.

Then from the profile pipe of rectangular cross section we cut 4 segments in which we drill holes with a diameter of 16 mm. At one end of each profile, you need to drill another hole with a diameter of 25 mm - for the installation of steel "fingers", which were machined on a lathe.

In the side walls of the profile we drill one through hole for a fixing bolt with a wing for fixing a steel "finger". After that, we proceed to the assembly.
