Purchased grinding attachments for drills are very convenient to use, but are expensive. Therefore, many home-made craftsmen prefer to make homemade nozzles. It turns out cheap and cheerful, as they say.

To make a grinding nozzle for a drill with your own hands, you need an axis with nuts and a bolt from the factory nozzle (you can make such a shaft yourself), as well as small pieces of sandpaper and rubber.

Please note that the characteristics of the grinding nozzles themselves will directly depend on the thickness and rigidity of the used rubber "gaskets". Nozzles can be made in different sizes, depending on your needs and capabilities of the drill.

The main stages of work

First of all, we cut out the pieces of rubber of the right size with scissors. Each piece needs to be drilled with a drill with a diameter of 3 mm or just pierced with an awl so that they fit tightly on the axis of the mandrel.

Next, you need to trim the edges of the rubber to process less. Then we insert the nozzle into the drill chuck, turn on the grinding machine and process the rubber “hamburger” to the required diameter.

In the same way it will be necessary to process pieces of sandpaper. We cut the pieces of the required size (slightly larger than the pieces of rubber), fold them in pairs and put them on the mandrel axis together with the rubber “gaskets”, alternating them.

The result is an inexpensive home-made grinding nozzle for a drill with which you can process metal and wood parts. The process of manufacturing such a nozzle, see the video on the site.
