Long joinery clamps can be made with your own hands, spending a minimum of time and a simple list of materials that are almost always at hand from a thrifty owner. Joiner wands are useful in the design of frames, furniture frames, the assembly of windows and other frame products.

Using home-made clamps, adjustable in length, you can glue wooden panels, countertops, doors of different widths. It is not difficult to make a long clamp. The design of the vaima is based on a wooden beam of square or rectangular cross section, as well as two stops, one of which is screw and the other is clamping.

When drawing up the product drawing, it is important to determine the stroke. This is one of the main characteristics of clamps - the distance over which the moving elements will move apart. The longer the stroke of the vaim, the wider the workpiece can be clamped.

Step-by-step joiner clamp manufacturing process

First of all, you need to prepare wooden blocks of 50x50 mm with a length of about 4-5 meters - the dimensions are calculated, depending on the width of the glued products. The number of bars depends on how many clamps are required for the workshop.

The clamping side of the bars, which will be in contact with the surface of the wooden panel or countertops, must be smooth and even. And on the reverse side, it is necessary to make transverse notches that will determine the boundaries of the working stroke of the movable stop. A wooden block with a hole is attached to the end of the beam - under the pin with a clamping sponge (threaded stop).

The second emphasis is quick-detachable so that it can be rearranged if necessary. In the video on the site you can see the sequence of work. Write in the comments what you think about the use of home-made adjustable clamps in the home workshop.
