Do you want to constantly “spin” and stand out from the crowd? This is quite realistic if you make a spinner with your own hands. To do this, you need to remember the elementary rules of the school geometry course or download the finished device layout on the Internet and print it on a printer. Home craftsmen offer several ways to make a trendy toy to your taste, you only need to choose an acceptable option for yourself.

Structural elements

Fidget Spinner features a primitive design. The anti-stress “pinwheel” consists of three main elements: the central and side bearings, a one-piece housing and a blind plug in the middle. This is the most affordable version of the toy - if you want the Fidget Spinner to glow in the dark, you will have to provide a place for LED bulbs.

In this article, we will talk about creating a standard model, which will not be difficult to assemble independently, especially if there are spinner templates at hand. To make a “turntable” at home, you need to do 3 simple steps:

  • select a fidget drawing on the Internet, download it to a computer and print it to a printer;
  • cut the spinner using a finished stencil from a plastic or wooden blank (as an option, you can draw a 3D toy with a pen);
  • add colors - paint Spinner to make it original.

And remember that the optimal size of the “turntable” should not exceed 7-8 cm in diameter. If the toy is bigger, then it simply will not turn around in the hands.

Therefore, when downloading your favorite spinner template, be sure to pay attention to the original size of the picture so that later there will be no problems. The most popular options are models with three "petals", but making a rectangular spinner faster and easier.

# 1 Draw a 3D spinner with a pen

The case for the spinner can be made of thick paper (cardboard or Whatman paper). To do this, print a “turntable” stencil on the printer, crop the sketch along the contour and transfer the image to paper. It will be necessary to cut 10-20 samples, depending on the desired thickness of the toy. Glue all the details of the PVA and press down with something heavy to compress the paper.

After the glue has dried, make a hole in the middle for the central bearing (a couple of millimeters less than the outer diameter). Then insert the bearing and the homemade fidget is ready to use. Five-ruble coins can be glued to the “petals" - then the toy will spin longer.

Plastic hand spinners can also be made using a 3D pen. To do this, you will need:

  1. download and print your favorite fidget sketch;
  2. circle the pattern along the contours of the lines with a 3D pen;
  3. glue the individual elements of the toy together.

Such a fidget will be much better than the paper version and will last longer. When choosing a bearing for the “turntable”, it is better to give preference to R188 - 12.7 mm marked ABEC 5. Beautiful and unusual spinners are obtained from ABS plastic, which will attract the attention of others with their originality.

# 2 Drawing for a model of wood

But how to draw a spinner yourself, without using patterns? Very simple. If you know how to use a jigsaw and a drill, you can make an eco-friendly wooden fidget: rectangular or with three "petals". You will need:

  • plywood or wooden block 4-8 mm thick;
  • hand or power tool (jigsaw, drill with a crown);
  • 4 bearings of the same size;
  • marking tool (ruler, pencil, compass).

On a wooden blank, draw an equilateral triangle, each side of which should be 10 cm. To find the center where the main bearing will be, you need to draw an external circle with a compass from each height of the triangle.

After that, connect the corners of the figure with the intersection of these lines. The remaining bearings are placed on the bisector line at the same distance from the center. Then drill holes with a suitable core drill.
