The following ingredients are needed to make the Prague cake:
For the test:
- 2 eggs,
- 200 g of sour cream (15-20% fat content),
- A glass of sugar
- Two glasses of flour (approximately 500g),
- Condensed milk (200 ml),
- Baking powder bag,
- Cocoa (2-3 teaspoons)
For cream:
- Condensed milk,
- Butter (it is also needed to lubricate the mold)
- Cocoa,
- Vanilla sugar.
We take the ingredients for the cream in the quantity "to taste", you can also make chocolate cream according to your proven recipe.
If desired, add nuts, bananas, pieces of dark chocolate.
First, beat the eggs with sugar. It is not necessary to do this with a mixer, just beat with a fork or a whisk until foam appears. Add sour cream and condensed milk to the eggs. Mix thoroughly. Now add all the loose ingredients. Thoroughly sifted flour (to specify exactly how much flour you need is impossible, a thick, but flowing dough should be obtained), baking powder (you can use 2 teaspoons of soda instead), cocoa. Knead the dough thoroughly until all the lumps of flour and cocoa are dispersed.
Bake the cake in a greased form. Cakes can be baked in two ways. Pour all the dough at once, and then cut it into two cakes. Or divide the dough into two parts and bake in turn. I prefer the first option, as the cut cakes are better saturated with cream. However, it is worth considering that the dough is very rising in size and can be baked for a long time in the middle. I bake my cake in the slow cooker for 60-70 minutes (longer than the “Baking” mode offers). If you use an oven, it is best to take a deep baking dish and make sure that the dough does not burn. If you missed the cake, and it is slightly burnt, you need to wait for the cake to cool completely and carefully scrape off the burnt part with a knife. While the cake is baked and cooled down, you can prepare a cream. To do this, we beat the butter softened at room temperature with condensed milk and 2-3 tablespoons of cocoa, as well as vanilla sugar.
When the cakes are completely cooled, grease them with cream. In the middle between the two cakes, add bananas (nuts).
We decorate the top cake with chocolate chips, pieces of chocolate, nuts. We leave the cake to soak in the refrigerator for several hours.
