A mini press is a useful thing for a home workshop and garage. With its help, the boards can be pressed firmly against each other, as well as the bearings are pressed into the "seat seats". In general, such an adaptation in the economy will certainly not be superfluous.

You can make a simple homemade press with your own hands from the steering rack of the car - for the home workshop this is the best option. It is convenient in work, and does not take up much space on the table.

The first step is to clean the steering rack with a metal brush. Then the author welds the base for a homemade press. To do this, he uses a piece of sheet metal and a plate, which serves as a rack.

The main stages of work

At the next stage, the master cuts off two pieces of the plate that will connect the steering rack itself to the base stand. First, the plates are welded to the rack, then to the rack body.

After that, the master welds a small segment of a square bar to the steering shaft of the rack. This will be the lever to control the press. If desired, for greater convenience, instead of a simple lever, you can make a steering wheel, as on a drilling machine.

At the last stage, it remains only to make an additional mount for the rack housing from a piece of the plate. At the base, you need to drill holes so that you can screw it to the table.
