Wood is a universal and low-cost building material from which you can create both unique and the simplest, but useful things in the household. Moreover, the cost of lumber and wood blanks is quite affordable, which allows the master not to limit the flight of his imagination.

In this review we will tell you how to make a shelf for shoes and a hanger for outerwear with your own hands. As the main material we will use a edged board and calibrated wooden round sticks - to connect the shelves.

How to make a shoe rack

For the manufacture of a multi-tiered shelf for storing shoes, you will need four boards 80x30 cm and a thickness of 18 mm. In each board you need to drill four holes along the edges. This can be done with a mill or a pen drill of the desired diameter. The holes on the top board must be blind.

Then you need to put all four boards on wooden slats of circular cross-section, which must be sawed to size - at the desired height of the shelf. First, round logs are inserted into the upper part (cover) of the shelf, and then the remaining shelves are mounted on them.

When the shelves are set in height relative to each other, we drill holes at the ends and insert thin sticks, cut off the excess with a hacksaw so that their ends are flush with the side surface of the shelf.

Wall hanger manufacturers

It is also easy to make a hanger for outerwear with your own hands from an ordinary planed board. We cut the board to size, markup and drill holes in two rows. In the holes we hammer furniture dowels. That's all - the wall hanger is ready!
