Attic insulation

I began warming the attic floor with warming of the roof space and walls, then I installed additional elements of the heating system and put backup power for the circulation pump.
The walls and the roof were faced in a multilayer way: vapor barrier, foiled insulation "Isospan" ("Adgilin", etc.) from 3 to 10 millimeters; 100 mm expanded polystyrene; fiberboard sheet (painted with drying oil or impregnation). (photo 5, splash screen)
Hard-to-reach and corner places are scored with glass wool mats with a thickness of 50 millimeters. All cracks, joints between the foam were carefully sealed with mounting foam.

Even when I was warming, I immediately noticed a significant increase in temperature in the "pockets" of the attic. The walls of the attic were passed through Izospan with the help of a construction stapler.

For heating the house, I used a gas-fired gas boiler Signal 10, it is a stationary type, reliable enough, since its design is without electronic components. The heating area increased by 50%, and although the boiler heating was calculated according to the passport to a maximum of 150 square meters, with well-implemented measures to preserve heat, it will be possible to heat more than 200 square meters.
Accordingly, it was necessary to partially re-equip the heating system, replacing some elements. Since the temperature conditions of the boiler increased, due to the increase in the heated area, it was necessary to replace the riser of the main that gives off heat. The pipe material should be more reliable to high temperature, instead of polypropylene, I prepared a one and a half meter metal pipeline with fittings for additional lines.

The branch for heating the attic, like the other two on the ground floor, was equipped with shut-off taps, this is a very important aspect, which allows regulating the flow of coolant.
He put the expansion tank at the highest point in his pocket under the roof and also insulated it with foil Izospan. All pipes located in the under-roof space were placed in foam covers.

The multilevel heating system and the structural simplicity of the boiler require a pump with a water column pressure of up to 6 meters. The pump in such a system works almost constantly, only switches to a different capacity. The pump is powered by a standard household electrical network, and the maximum power consumption is 50 watts. Consequently, the heating system with a circulation pump in a multi-storey building is not reliable in the event of an emergency power outage. A specialized backup power supply is relatively expensive, so I will offer a standard alternative uninterruptible power supply for office equipment as a cheap alternative. Installation of the UPS to the heating pump is provided by removing the plug plug at the outlet of the device and connecting the wires to the plug-in socket on the pump. In normal time, the normal situation, the pump operates from a central network. In practice, using an “uninterruptible power supply” to power a pump with a rated power of 40-50 watts, it is possible to work during an emergency disconnection from the household network for 6-8 hours using UPSs with a capacity of only 1000-1200 watts. Usually this is enough, especially since the power can be turned on for a short time so that the pump drives out the water in the system. Also, a more complex mounted boiler can be connected to the backup source, its operation time when the mains voltage is turned off will be sufficient, since the boiler device uses a similar pump, and the energy consumption for the power of the electronic control unit and shut-off equipment will be negligible. The main thing is that the “uninterruptible” will work effectively, not allowing the boiler to stand in emergency mode when disconnected from the mains.
The complex of these measures for warming rooms and optimal heating will significantly save heat in your home and reduce the cost of gas consumption for heating.
