We make clamps "in Russian" from ordinary Chinese

Cheap Chinese clamps are, in fact, an expendable material, since they do not last long. Why only buy them is unclear.

However, these "paper glands" can be redone. The result is solid clamps for the home workshop or garage - so to speak, clamps "in Russian".

The first step is to remove the screw with a movable sponge from the Chinese clamp. The master decided to make the remaining parts on his own.

From the metal 6–7 mm thick, the master makes a new tire, an upper fixed sponge, and also a mount for a movable sponge with a screw removed from a Chinese clamp.

The main stages of work

First you need to make a "slider" that will be attached to the movable sponge. To do this, the master welds together 4 pieces of a metal plate cut to size - a gap must be left between them.

Next, you need to weld to the "slider" a movable sponge with a screw from a Chinese clamp. Please note that the sponge itself must be made of steel. If it is cast iron, it will not work to weld it to the plate.

At the last stage of work, it remains only to weld the upper clamping jaw to the tire. After that, you can start grinding and painting the product. In approximately this way it is possible to "mold candy" from a Chinese clamp.
